CLIENT STORIES: FREIGHTER FROM MAIL BOAT - OCTOBER 20, 2020
Matt McAuliffe of McAuliffe Sales reached out because he was looking for industrial images of Detroit to hang in their newly-renovated office space in Hazel Park. They work with plants in the industrial field, and initially found me through images I captured of Zug Island and downriver Detroit.
They purchased a 51x72 image I took of the Federal Nakagawa freighter while aboard the J.W. Westcott, Detroit's mail boat (with its own zip code!). I was fortunate enough to have been introduced to their office at an art fair, and was invited to take a ride on their boat. It was an amazing experience! This photo was captured while we were circling around the freighter, after dropping off the pilot (there are specially trained pilots that have to drive the freighters through the Detroit river channel).
This is also the largest image I have had printed up and hung as well! Below are images of it on their wall.
