MEET THE PHOTOGRAPHER
HI, my name is ALANNA

Hello! My name is Alanna St. Laurent, I'm a Detroit-based visual storyteller drawn to the quiet power of historical spaces. Through my lens, I capture the architectural beauty and resilience of Detroit -- it's grandeur, grit and history etched into every brick and beam. My imagery is rooted in a deep appreciation for place -- especially old, storied buildings that whisper of lives once lived.
Whether it's cityscapes bathed in golden light, factories standing still in their silence, or barns weathered by time -- these are the subjects that speak to me. I believe photography is not just about what we see, but what we feel as we behold a photo. The vision for my images is to evoke a sense of wonder, nostalgia and connection.
My passion has widened in scope over the years, bringing me through large cities as well as small rural towns in search of interesting historical subjects (I live for road trips!). Subjects include urban historical buildings, barns, mills, mansions, ghost or neon signs, industrial manufacturing, etc. My galleries are filled with these sorts of images. Which of these subjects speaks to you?
You may have come across my photography at Detroit's best art fairs in the past, but today I sell my photos through my website and continue to work with clients both local and international. I work with those looking for images for both their homes and offices that reflect their style and vision of Detroit and beyond.
I AM A DRONE PILOT
What does it mean to be a drone pilot? It means I successfully passed the FAA Part 107 exam to allow me to be licensed to fly my drone for commercial purposes. Furthermore, I can legally be hired to capture images for a client, as well as sell any of my fine art images captured with my drone. Check out my drone collection!
