ABOUT MY BUSINESS



Founded and led by photographer Alanna St. Laurent since 2011, this Detroit-based photography business is dedicated to documenting the built environment, cultural history, and evolving landscape of Detroit and Michigan. Through thoughtful, detail-driven imagery, my work preserves places that are often overlooked—celebrating restoration, honoring loss, and capturing moments of transition.


At its core, the business is guided by values of historical preservation, visual storytelling, authenticity, and respect for place. Each photograph is created with the intention of educating, inspiring curiosity, and fostering a deeper connection to architecture and urban history.


Services and offerings include fine art photography, archival documentation, editorial and commercial licensing, commissioned projects, and curated print sales. The business also maintains an blog titled "Photo Stories" that provides historical context and insights behind featured locations and images.


Operating from the Detroit metropolitan area, my business works locally throughout Michigan and is available for select regional projects. All creative direction, photography, and research are handled by Alanna St. Laurent, ensuring a cohesive vision and a personal, hands-on approach to every project.
